Stephen H. Roney Memorial Park

Photo of Steve Roney

Welcome to the Stephen H. Roney Memorial Park. This quaint and relaxing space at the corner of Bridge Street and North Main Street (Route 140) is a project initiated by his brother firefighters from Grafton Fire Department Engine Company Two, of which he was a firefighter for forty-five years and Captain for eleven. Steve answered the call to help those in need both as a firefighter and director of Roney Funeral Home, serving this town with humility, pride, strength and compassion. He was a devoted steward and parishioner of St. Mary’s Parish, happily giving his time as a Eucharistic Minister. Many former Little League players have fond memories of being coached by him as they learned the game.

We are grateful for funding assistance by the Grafton Community Preservation Fund in this endeavor and this beautifully designed space, in the back yard of Steve's Firehouse, is now complete. Thank you to all who donated their time, talent and money to support the completion of the Stephen H. Roney Memorial Park. This outpouring of support will allow Engine Company Two to maintain the park for many years to come.
